All of my life,
I have been told,
they are watching over me.

How can they expect me to help them,
when I've worked so hard to get this far?
No one has made this easy for me.
Even trying to help ends up hindering me.

The guardian angels up in the sky,
ripped off their wings.
They gave them to me,
then they told me to fly as high as could be,
and to never let anything get the best of me.
But as I flew higher,
I reached the sun,
my wings singed and started to burn.

Now all the demons that watch over me,
are shrouded with guilt,
over what happened to me.

Taken from my prime,
with nowhere to go,
and thrown into the black abyss below.

Hoist me up from the depths.
Lay my body down to rest.
Let the stars shine down on me,
and remind us where we want to be.

My guardians tried to help me,
but through fault of my own,
and the forces that be,
I fell to the ground as I started to fly,
soaring majestically,
like a stone from the sky.

Now even further I have to reach,
to keep them all happy,
and bring myself peace.

To those who help,
I thank thee,
but it's those who hinder,
that get to me.
